European Parliament calls for strategy on future of EU/Afghanistan relationship

The European Parliament called on the EU Council, the European External Action Service and the European Commission on Thursday 10 June to prepare and present to the Parliament “as soon as possible” a comprehensive strategy on the future of cooperation with Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the NATO Allies’ troops.

In the joint resolution of the S&D, Greens/EFA, EPP, Renew Europe and ECR groups adopted by 610 votes in favour, 34 against and 39 abstentions, the Parliament expresses...
