MEPs adopt new rules to strengthen rail passengers’ rights

On Thursday 29 April, the European Parliament adopted at second reading the proposal to introduce new rules on protection and compensation for rail users who face delays, cancellations, or discrimination.

In detail, the text foresees that passengers will have the option, in case of a delay of more than 60 minutes, to choose to be reimbursed for the full amount of their ticket, to continue their journey, or to be re-routed, without additional costs, under similar conditions.
