EU Council extends sanctions against Burmese coup leaders by one year

29/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 29 April, the Council of the EU decided to extend for one year, until 30 April 2022, the restrictive measures against senior members of the Burmese armed forces (Tatmadaw) and border police, as well as civilian members of the State Administrative Council and the Chair of the Election Commission(see EUROPE B12701A4). The restrictive measures also affect two entities that are owned and controlled by the armed forces.
