European Commission launches public consultation on future EU forestry strategy

On 25 January, the European Commission launched a public consultation, open until 19 April, on the EU’s future forestry strategy, expected in the first quarter of 2021, as part of the European Green Deal.

This forestry strategy will primarily be the responsibility of the EU Agriculture Council (see EUROPE B12631A10), but should be consistent with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030 and the EU’s medium and long-term climate objectives.
