20/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – Stéphanie Yon-Courtin MEP (Renew Europe, France) expressed her concern on Wednesday 20 January about the conditions of access for European fishing vessels to the 6-12 mile zone of British territorial waters (see EUROPE 12638/9). She sent a letter to this effect to the French Minister for the Sea, Annick Girardin. Ms Yon-Courtin regretted that the British authorities were refusing to admit many ships, particularly French ones, into the zone. It calls for the correction of the application to fisheries of the clauses of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the parties, in particular as regards the modalities of access by French vessels to the 6-12 mile zone of the United Kingdom.
