05/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 4 January, as an immediate consequence of the end of the transition period granted to the United Kingdom up to 31 December 2020, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) withdrew the authorisations of six credit rating agencies (AM Best Europe-Rating Services Ltd, DBRS Ratings Ltd, Fitch Ratings Ltd, Fitch Ratings CIS Ltd, Moody’s Investors Service Ltd and The Economist Intelligence Unit Ltd) and four trade repositories (DTCC Derivatives Repository Plc, UnaVista Limited, CME Trade Repository Ltd and ICE Trade Vault Europe Ltd) based in the UK. EU regulations require ESMA to withdraw a company’s authorisation when it no longer meets the conditions under which it was registered, including having the status of a legal entity established in the EU.
