13/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced at the end of the day on Friday 13 November that the EU Covid-19 national scientific advice platform, chaired by Commissioner of Health Stella Kyriakides, has held its first meeting. This platform, the institution explains, aims to better coordinate scientific advice between Member States with regard to health measures. In this way, it complements the Commission President’s Covid-19 Advisory Group and the work of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). “The scientific advisers discussed the most effective settings for the use of rapid antigen tests and isolation and quarantine practices to control the spread of the virus”, says the institution. As a reminder, this platform was created at the end of October, following a videoconference meeting between European leaders (see EUROPE 12592/1). (PH)
