Jutta Urpilainen welcomes 6-month extension of moratorium on debt servicing for poor countries, but considers that more needs to be done

The G20 Finance and Paris Club agreed to extend the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) for the poorest countries by 6 months to 30 June 2021 to help them cope with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The news was announced on the evening of Wednesday 14 October by the G20 Finance Ministers, following a videoconference chaired by the Saudi Presidency and by the Paris Club (see EUROPE B12581A20).
