The G7 Finance Ministers (the United States, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy and Canada) met by videoconference on Friday 25 September to pave the way for a six-month extension of the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) for the poorest countries to help them cope with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic (see EUROPE B12550A3, B12532A16).
Discussions over possible debt restructuring for these countries was also on the agenda of the meeting.
