Polish government and mining unions agree on 2049 as the date for exit of coal

25/09/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Polish authorities and the country’s mining unions finally agreed on Friday 25 September to set 2049 as the closure date for the last coal mine. “We have signed the liquidation of one of the most important industries in the history of the Republic of Poland”, Dominik Kolorz, Head of the Solidarity trade union for the Silesian coalfield, told journalists, quoted byAFP.
