Commission to invest a further 100 million euros to support development of a vaccine against Covid-19

22/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 22 July that it would co-finance up to 100 million euros an appeal by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI) to support the rapid development of vaccines against Covid-19. These funds will be mobilised by the EU under the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme: they should finance development activities, but not the manufacturing phase of vaccines.
