CEMR publishes report on impact of Covid-19 on finances of local and regional authorities in Europe

01/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 26 June, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) published a report covering 15 EU member states and two non-EU countries (Iceland and Turkey), which showed a substantial fall in local public sector revenues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and an increase in expenditure on emergency measures that needed to be taken in response to the health crisis.
