European Parliament approves one-year postponement of EU rules on medical devices

17/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 17 April, the European Parliament gave the green light for application of Regulation 2017/74 governing the placing on the market of medical devices, including gloves, surgical masks and intensive care equipment, to be postponed for a year - from 26 May 2020 to 26 May 2021 (see EUROPE B12461A8). The aim is to avoid shortages and delays of the equipment in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The postponement proposal still needs to be formally approved...
