Euro area inflation down to 0.7% in March

The Euro area annual inflation rate was 0.7% in March 2020, down from 1.2% in February, according to figures released by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Friday 17 April.

The European Union’s inflation was 1.2%, down from 1.6% in February.

The lowest annual rates were observed in Spain, Italy, Cyprus and Portugal (0.1% each). The highest rates were recorded in Hungary, Poland (3.9% each) and the Czech Republic (3.6%). Inflation rose to 1.3% in Germany and 0.8%...
