COVID-19, more than 150 MEPs take action to protect rights of their assistants

An initiative launched last week by Hungarian MEP István Ujhelyi (S&D, Hungary), consulted by EUROPE on Tuesday 7 April, has received the support of nearly 170 MEPs from all political groups in recent days to safeguard the salary rights of parliamentary assistants who have returned to their home countries for the duration of the confinement necessitated by the COVID-19 health crisis.
