EU ministers to call on banking sector to play its part in supporting businesses affected by crisis

At their next meeting via videoconference, EU finance ministers are expected to adopt a declaration calling on banks to continue lending to households and businesses in difficulty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the smooth operation of the insurance sector.

On Wednesday 8 April, Member States' ambassadors to the EU are expected to give the green light to the text before its formal adoption at the next virtual Ecofin Council, which according to our sources, will take place...
