06/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The UK Government has announced the release of £8 million to help vulnerable people apply under the European Settlement Scheme, which allows EU citizens already in the UK to register and thereby retain their residency rights after the end of the transition period. More than 3.2 million applications have already been submitted and nearly 2.9 million have been granted residency status, according to a news release. The additional £8 million is to “ensure that important information continues to reach the hardest to reach people” the elderly, the vulnerable, those without internet access, etc. (SP)
