European Data Protection authorities consider a GDPR review in 2020 to be premature

On Monday, 24 February, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) published its opinion on reviewing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Its conclusion is clear: after only 20 months of application, it would be “premature” to revise the legislation at this stage.

In fact, the Commission must submit a report to the European Parliament and the EU Council on the evaluation and review of the regulation by 25 May 2020, taking into account the positions of the co-legislators...
