Phil Hogan pledges to make Paris climate agreement a 'key clause' in trade agreements
Brussels, 07/01/2020 (Agence Europe)

EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan, who was in Paris on Tuesday 7 January, proposed to include "climate conditionality" in future free trade agreements. On the agenda of the talks were "burning issues" such as the threat of US trade sanctions on French products in response to the French 'GAFA tax' applied since July 2019 or the Airbus dispute, Mr Hogan told the press (see other news and EUROPE B12397A5), but also the new Commission's trade priorities and "longer-term challenges for the EU".
