Commission has doubts about €9 million public aid to Air Nostrum in Spain

The European Commission opened an in-depth investigation on Tuesday 29 October to determine whether the Spanish region of Valencia’s plan to grant €9 million in public aid to the regional airline Air Nostrum for the renewal of its fleet complies with EU state aid rules.

Air Nostrum is a regional airline based in Valencia. The aid (€9 million in total) is intended for the purchase of additional, more environmentally friendly aircraft.
