Natural gas makes no contribution to climate protection, says Energy Watch Group

In a report published on Tuesday 17 September, the NGO Energy Watch Group states that natural gas makes no contribution to climate protection.

Energy Watch Group even believes that the shift from coal and oil to natural gas “accelerates climate change through alarming methane emissions”.

The study concludes that, overall, the switch from coal and oil to natural gas in power generation and heating systems “even increases the greenhouse effect of energy supply by around 40%”.
