Public Prosecutor's Office is not a judicial authority empowered to issue a European arrest warrant, according to Advocate General

The Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), Manuel Campos Sánchez-Bordona, in his Opinion of Tuesday 30 April in Joined Cases C-508/18 and C-82/19 PPU and Case C-509/18, considered that the Public Prosecutor's Office cannot be qualified as an “issuing judicial authority” authorised to issue a European arrest warrant.
