17/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) launched on Tuesday 16 April a website to explain to the general public the technologies installed or to be installed in vehicles and their usefulness in terms of road safety. “Today, cars already come equipped with a wide range of safety measures. A key concern of ours is that many drivers are simply not aware of these existing technologies”, said Erik Jonnaert, the organization's secretary general. To this end, on 26 March, representatives of the European Parliament and the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU reached an interinstitutional agreement on the Vehicle General Safety Regulation (see EUROPE 12222/21, 12237/12).
