21/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – In a written procedure on Thursday 21 March, the Council of the EU extended by one year the sanctions against nine persons identified as responsible for embezzling Egyptian public funds. They are the former Egyptian President, Mohamed Hosni Elsayed Mubarak, his wife Suzanne Saleh Thabet, his sons Alaa Mohamed Hosni Elsayed Mubarak and Gamal Mohamed Hosni Elsayed Mubarak, and their respective wives, Heidy Mahmoud Magdy Hussein Rasekh and Khadiga Mahmoud El Gammal. Former Tourism Ministers Mohamed Zohir Mohamed Wahed Garrana, Interior Minister Habib Ibrahim Habib Eladli, and his wife Elham Sayed Salem Sharshar, are also involved. The publication in the Official Journal of the EU of the legal acts related to this decision is scheduled for 22 March. (CG)
