07/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – Interinstitutional negotiations ('trialogues') between the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and representatives of the European Parliament on the revision of Directive 92/106/EEC on combined transport of goods between Member States, which is part of the second mobility package (see EUROPE 11900), will start on Wednesday 9 January. This first trialogue meeting follows the agreement reached between Member States' ministers last 3 December, at the end of the negotiations on the first mobility package (see EUROPE 11252). The MEPs had adopted their position on this issue last July (see EUROPE 12059, 12058). The negotiators should then agree on a working method, in order to try to finalise the discussions in the coming weeks. (LT)
