Council gives go-ahead to two proposals for action plan on 'sustainable finance

Member States' ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) on Wednesday 19 December agreed in principle on two legislative proposals contained in the Commission's action plan on 'sustainable finance' (see EUROPE 11977) presented last March.

They gave the green light to the proposed regulation creating the "low carbon” index, which would be based on a standard decarbonisation benchmark index, and the “positive carbon balance” index, which would allow an investment portfolio to better align...
