A case of mad cow disease found on a Scottish farm

18/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – A case of 'mad cow' (bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or BSE) has been detected on a farm in Aberdeenshire in north-eastern Scotland, the Scottish Government announced on Thursday 18 October. This is the first case of BSE in Scotland in 10 years and the first case in the United Kingdom since two cases occurred in 2015.
