25/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 24 September, Germany's Nicola Beer was appointed lead candidate of the Liberal FDP party in the European elections of May 2019, rather than a candidate for the role of Spitzenkandidatin of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE), one of her colleagues told EUROPE on Tuesday 25 September (see EUROPE 12102).
