Development cooperation important for 89% of EU citizens, according to Eurobarometer

According to the latest Eurobarometer survey (Special Report 476) published by the European Commission on Tuesday 25 September, 89% of the EU citizens surveyed are still of the opinion that "it is important to help the people of developing countries" – a figure that is stable in comparison with 2016, but down in 20 EU member states.  However, over three quarters of those surveyed believe the EU should honour its promises of aid.
