23/08/2018 (Agence Europe) – In early August, the European Commission approved two Polish public aid measures under the European rules on competition. The first concerns the one-year extension of a Polish resolution scheme for banks and cooperative banks. The scheme, which has been in place since the end of 2016, covers financial institutions managing less than €3 billion of banking assets. It also approved the inclusion of the Płock power station, which has a production capacity of 600 MW of electricity produced from gas, in its existing high-efficiency co-generation scheme. This scheme, which has been in place since 2016, grants certificates for each megawatt-hour of electricity generated. (MB)
