Additional €3 million aid to Spain to address growing migration flows

21/08/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 3 August, the European Commission allocated a further €3 million to Spain from the Internal Security Fund (ISF).  The Western Mediterranean has become the main migration route from Africa to the European Union in 2018 (see EUROPE 12075).  This additional support brings to €30 million the emergency funding awarded to Madrid since July and it will help cover the costs linked to the deployment of extra staff from the Guardia Civil.  It comes...
