On 27 June, Germany's Interior Minister Horst Seehofer sent a letter to the European Commission in which he asks the negotiators to change strategy with the UK to avoid endangering lives. In his letter, published by the Financial Times on 5 July, Seehofer criticises the dogmatic approach of the EU negotiators, which would reportedly prevent an agreement being found, especially on the security plank.
