26/06/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 25 June, the secretary general of NATO underlined that the Alliance would ask the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to become a full member of NATO once the country has concluded the procedure provided for in the agreement with Greece. "I hope the NATO heads of state and government will be able to conclude on the start of the negotiations (with FYROM)", he said when he arrived at the EU Foreign Affairs and Defence Council, adding that "full ratification (of the agreement) and (a) positive vote in the referendum" would be needed. Elsewhere, in Skopje, the president of FYROM refused to sign a draft law, on 26 June, for the ratification of the agreement – which results in the law being sent back to the parliament, where it will have to be adopted by simple majority.
