Parliament ratifies its position on hiring driverless vehicles

During their plenary session on Thursday 14 June, MEPs gave their support (353 votes in favour, 257 votes against, with 26 abstentions) to the result of Parliament's transport committee vote on 24 May last on hiring driverless vehicles (see EUROPE 12026). 

Although the compromise amendments to the report by Cláudia Monteiro de Aguiar (EPP, Portugal) had effectively been approved by the transport committee, the rapporteur had been unable to obtain a mandate for the inter-institutional...
