Council authorises creation of crime information cell as part of EunavforMed Sophia operations

14/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 14 May, the Council of the EU adopted a decision allowing the creation of a crime information cell within EUNAVFOR MED Operation Sophia. The information cell will be composed of up to 10 staff members from relevant law enforcement authorities of member states and from the EU agencies FRONTEX and EUROPOL in order to improve information sharing between them and will be based at the EUNAVFOR MED centre in Rome.  The cell will aim to facilitate the...
