EU contributes to combating illegal fishing in Western Africa

04/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – The five-year EU-funded PESCAO project, which includes a component aimed at improving the fight against illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing activities in Western Africa, kicked off on Friday 4 May, the European Commission said.  The project (with €15 million in EU funding) aims to strengthen the capacity of the different countries and regional organisations concerned to ensure more effective coordination.  This should allow more effective...
