Member states agreed to strengthen motor-vehicle type approval tests

On Thursday 3 May, the Technical Committee of Motor Vehicles (TCMV) gave the green light to the proposals from the European Commission on strengthening the type approval tests in Real Driving Emissions (RDE) and the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). The most significant change involves the fact that the member states supported the proposal for developing a motor vehicle consumer follow-up as part of the revised version of the WLTP.
