04/04/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 3 April, the European Commission opened a public consultation on airport charges. The Commission is specifically calling on stakeholders to reply to a questionnaire, in an effort to assess the impact of the future revision of the 2009/12/EC directive, which could possibly be presented by the next European Commission, if it deems it necessary. This consultation follows the launch of an Inception Impact Study in this connection on 13 November last (see EUROPE 11905). The interested parties and undertakings have until 26 June to submit their observations. The question of airport charges is a subject of debate between the airline companies and airports (see EUROPE 11924). (LT)
