20/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 20 March, the European Commission and Armenia signed an agreement paving the way to the latter's participation in the Creative Europe programme. This country will be particularly involved in the "Culture" sub-programme and the inter-sectoral chapter of Creative Europe. Armenia is the fourth country of the Eastern Partnership to join this EU programme for encouraging audiovisual and cultural sectors and follows Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Once the Armenian Parliament has ratified the agreement, Armenia will pay an annual contribution to the European Union and in exchange will be eligible for Creative Europe calls for proposals (which often includes a trans-national dimension). It is difficult to know exactly how much the country will receive in exchange for its participation. (SPj)
