Car manufacturers support Commission's action plan on alternative fuel infrastructure

23/02/2018 (Agence Europe)In a policy document published on Friday 23 February, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) backs the infrastructure action plan for alternative fuels unveiled by the European Commission on 8 November 2017 as part of the second mobility package (see EUROPE 11900).  ACEA encourages the Commission to ensure full implementation of Directive 2014/94/EU on the deployment of alternative fuel infrastructure. Among its recommendations, ACEA suggests that the Commission should continue ‘to respect the technology-neutrality principle,’ noting that decarbonisation of transport will require the production and use of various types of alternative fuels.  ACEA says that the need to deploy infrastructure is not being taken properly account of in the various proposals of the second mobility package. (LT)
