€69.4 billion surplus in EU current account balance in Q3 2017 due mainly to services

According to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, the EU current account of the balance of payments recorded a surplus of €69.4 billion (1.8% of GDP) in the third quarter of 2017 (Q3 2017), up by €22.1 billion compared with the surplus recorded in the second quarter of 2017 and by €24.6 billion compared with the third quarter of 2016.
