EU deplores deadly violence and infringements to fundamental freedoms

On Wednesday 3 January, the European Union denounced the deadly violence perpetrated on 31 December in the Democratic Republic of Congo on the anniversary of the Saint Sylvestre agreement that was concluded a year earlier between the Congolese regime and opposition. The EU also called for full implementation of this agreement in order to facilitate credible presidential elections this year.
