In December 2013, the EU agreed a partial ban on three bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides. On the fourth anniversary of the ban and a week ahead of a possible vote on the Commission proposal to tighten these measures, 80 NGOs belonging to the Save the Bees coalition called on Tuesday 5 December for the 28-member states to support a total ban on these pesticides, arguing that scientific data that have become available since then demonstrate that nearly respecting the use is not enough.
