European justice ministers prepare to endorse creation of European Public Prosecutor's Office

European justice ministers will meet in Luxembourg on Thursday 12 October for a meeting characterised by formal adoption of the regulation setting up a European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), a new body to tackle cross-border fraud in EU funds and VAT, which is due to come on stream in 2020.

Following final approval by the European Parliament in plenary last week (see EUROPE 11877), it is now for the Council of the EU to seal the launch of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office,...
