Taxation of GAFA – Berlin to distance itself from imminent French proposal

It will now be without Germany's support that the French Minister of the Economy and Finance, Bruno Lemaire, will present a proposal aiming to ensure the taxation of the digital economy (or GAFA:  Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon) at the informal meeting of the finance ministers in Tallinn on 15 and 16th September, the French daily newspaper Les Échos reported on Friday 1 September.
