01/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 1 September, Maja Kocijancic, the European External Action Service (EEAS) spokesperson, repeated the European Union's appeal for a government to be set up in Kosovo following the general elections held in mid-June (see EUROPE 11808). “We call on all parliamentary parties to act responsibly and to constitute first of all an assembly, elect the speaker and form a government as soon as possible”, she said, warning that “Kosovo has no time to lose and a new government should work immediately on reforms related to the rule of law and economy", should "deliver on visa liberation", and should "take part in the region but also constructively engage in the dialogue” with Serbia on the normalisation of relations.
