MEPs endorse inter-institutional compromise strengthening controls over mutagenic and carcinogenic agents

30/08/2017 (Agence Europe)On Wednesday 30 August, the European Parliament’s employment and social affairs committee approved the inter-institution agreement strengthening European rules on mutagenic and carcinogenic agents (see EUROPE 11827). The agreement sets out new workplace exposure value limits for 13 substances, such as chromium VI. It introduces medical follow-up for workers who are permanently exposed and calls on the Commission to carry out a study by the beginning of 2019...
