European Parliament calls for immediate release of Dawitt Issak, Abune Antonios and all prisoners of conscience

In a joint resolution on human rights in Eritrea from the Greens/EFA, S&D, ALDE, ECR, GUE/NGL and EPP Groups, the European Parliament, in Strasbourg on Thursday 6 July, "condemns in the strongest terms Eritrea’s systematic, widespread and gross human rights violations".

This condemnation is coupled with a call for the immediate and unconditional release of Dawit Isaak, a journalist and winner of the UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize in 2017, who was arrested in Eritrea in...
