27/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – Axel Voss MEP (EPP, Germany) will indeed remain co-rapporteur with Evelyne Gebhardt (S&D, Germany) on digital content. He effectively confirmed to EUROPE that he would keep hold of this dossier and also perform the role of rapporteur on the directive involving copyright after the departure of Therese Comodini Cachia (EPP, Malta). He explained that, “I am happy to now be working as a rapporteur on copyright. I will advocate a balanced approach that includes the interests of all the different parties and fair remuneration for content creators. In the context of cultural diversity, we have to keep the industry alive and to promote it in an effort to encourage investment”. (SPj)
