23/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 23 June, the European Commission granted €5 million in additional aid to help stop the cholera epidemic in Yemen. This brings total EU support for efforts to tackle the disease to €8.8 million. European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid Christos Stylianides has asked for the humanitarian organisations to be allowed full access to the affected areas. Overall EU humanitarian funding for Yemen in 2017 stands at €121.7 million. (MB)
